Center Fundraiser

The Community of Center will be having a fundraiser Food/Grill stand to raise money for community improvements on May 22nd, located at The Barn at God’s Country. Food will be available starting at 5pm, and bands starting at 5:30. Bring your lawn chairs incase the event is held outside. All concerts at The Barn are a free will offering.

 

Bragging Rights on Thursday Nights

It’s the first Bragging rights of the year on Thursday, May 26th from 5-9pm. Support the community and non profits with your love of cars! Bring your classic car, motorcycle, or anything you have! Yankton Area Ice Association will be serving pulled pork sandwiches, pulled pork nachos, salads, and host a bake sale for a free will donation.

Each month, a different non profit will be serving the meal for a free will donation. Bring your lawn chairs, come out for food, friends, music and supporting our community! Movie At The Meridian

​Bring your family and friends to enjoy the ​Movie at the Meridian on Friday, May 27th at Riverside Park.
This completely free event includes: inflatables & games beginning at 6:00 pm, with the movie “Luca” (PG) beginning at 9pm (or dusk).
Snacks & drinks will be provided. Movie at the Meridian is hosted by Restore Church.

Kids in the Park

Kids in the Park is back! Starting June 4th, make Memorial Park part of your morning routine for some family fun! Each week the entertainment will be a little different, but the layout remains the same. Move N’ Groove from 9:30-10:00am. During this time, local organizations will lead activities to get those kiddos up movin’ n groovin’. Live entertainment will be on the big stage from 10-10:45am. Explore More from 10:45-11:30am. At the end of the event we encourage you to walk around to the “stations” set up that day and explore a little more.

God of Carnage

The Lewis & Clark Dakota Theatre presents God of Carnage June 2-4 & 10-11th at 7:30pm with matinees on June 5th & 12th at 2pm. 

It is about two sets of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park. They agree to meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner. However, as the evening goes on, the parents become increasingly childish, resulting in the evening devolving into chaos.

Pink in the Park

Join the Elk Point Pink Ladies for Pink in the Park on Saturday, June 4th. Activities start at 10 am and include vendors, food, kids activities, softball & cornhole tournament. A youth fishing tournament will be held for kids ages 1-12. Must be preregistered by May 13th. Contact Josh at (712) 389-0793. A street dance will end the day from 7-11pm. Rich Schild Poker Run

Rich Schild Poker Run will be held on Saturday June 4th starting in Tabor. Sign up starts at noon with kickstands up at 1pm. All the proceeds will go towards the Rich Schild Memorial Fireworks that takes place on Thursday, June 16th after the ballgame to start off Czech Days. Find more details on the Facebook Event Page: Rich Schild Poker Run.

 

Discover Heritage Park

Join the Mead Cultural Education Center for a summer celebration and to learn more about Heritage Park on Sunday, June 5th at noon. Music, food trucks and outdoors games will be available. Visitors get free museum admission for one day only. Restore The Caboose Raffle winners will be drawn.

 

Benefit Fun Run & Silent Auction

A Benefit Fun Run will be held for Brenda Robers & Jim Kuether on Saturday, June 25th. Both individuals lost their homes in house fires in Pierce, NE and was a total loss. Proceeds from the Fun Run & Silent Auction will be a 50/50 split.

Sign in begins at 10-10:45am at Charlies Bar in Pierce with an 11am departure. Cost is $20/driver and $10/passenger. Route includes stops in Randolph, Wayne, Hoskins and Pierce.

A silent auction will follow the run run. Items can be viewed and bid on throughout the day. Food will be served at the final destination for a free will donation.

Fire & Iron Independence Ride

Join Fire & Iron station 57 for an Independence ride on Saturday, July 9th. Registration is from 11-noon at The Boat House in Yankton. Cost is $20 per rider. A free will donation meal will be available after the ride. Final cards will be drawn at 6pm as well as a live auction. A silent auction will be going on all day. All vehicle are welcome on the ride.
