My Chemical Romance’s “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” returns to “Billboard” 200 for first time in over 10 years

Reprise RecordsThree cheers are in order for My Chemical Romance.

The band’s 2004 album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge has re-entered the Billboard 200 for the first time in over a decade. It currently sits at number 191 on the chart after being absent from the tally since 2006.

While it’s unclear what caused the album’s return to the Billboard 200, there are a variety of MCR-adjacent things going on lately: frontman Gerard Way‘s The Umbrella Academy Netflix series, and guitarist Frank Iero‘s newly announced album Barriers, with his band the Future Violents.

Additionally, this Friday, March 22 marks the sixth anniversary of MCR announcing their breakup.

Upon its original release, Three Cheers peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200, and stayed on the chart for nearly 80 weeks. It spawned the singles “Helena” and “I’m Not Okay (I Promise).”
