Mike Shinoda calls Chester Bennington’s posthumous collaboration with Lamb of God’s Mark Morton “Good stuff”

ABC/Randy HolmesEarlier this week, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton premiered the song “Cross Off” featuring Chester Bennington, which the late Linkin Park frontman recorded before his death in July 2017. Now, Bennington’s former bandmate Mike Shinoda has shared his thoughts of the collaboration.

“I remember when Chester played this song for me in his car, almost finished,” Shinoda tweeted. “He was really happy with it. Good stuff, Mark.” He also added a heart and the prayer hands emoji.

In an interview with Kerrang!, Morton spoke further about the collaboration, explaining that Bennington was, “very excited about the idea of screaming and doing something heavier than what [he’d] been doing lately.”

“Cross Off” will appear on Morton’s upcoming solo album Anesthetic, due out March 1. The record also includes collaborations with Papa Roach‘s Jacoby Shaddix, Alter Bridge frontman and Slash collaborator Myles Kennedy, Mark Lanegan, and Morton’s Lamb of God bandmate, Randy Blythe.
