ABC/Randy HolmesDave Grohl‘s 2019 didn’t start off with the best of omens, as he fell off the stage during the first Foo Fighters show of the year — though he barely missed a lick.
The sequence of events happened as such: during a corporate gig in Las Vegas Wednesday, someone in the audience handed Grohl a beer while he was vamping on guitar. Not wanting to stop rocking to drink the beer, Grohl placed the can on a monitor and tried to sip it hands-free while he continued to play guitar. This led to the beer then spilling all over the amp, so Dave quickly picked it up and chugged the rest — to the crowd’s delight.
On his way back to his bandmates, however, Grohl slipped and fell off the stage. Luckily, he recovered quickly and continued to jam.
You can watch fan-shot footage of the whole thing now on YouTube.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Grohl has lost his footing during a show. Back in 2015, he infamously broke his leg after falling off the stage during a concert in Sweden.
The next show on the Foo Fighters schedule is a performance at the Chris Cornell tribute concert, taking place January 16 in Los Angeles.
